The City is covered by a combination of full-time and part-time
volunteers who provide both fire protection and professional emergency
medical services. The City's two fire stations are staffed with
firefighter paramedics 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to handle emergency
calls. Funding for fire services is both through the City of Wadsworth's
General Fund and a fire levy. The EMS is funded by customer billing and an
EMS levy.
The City's Fire/EMS Department participates in numerous community
programs including Safety Town; CPR Training; Safety Forces Camp for 5th
through 7th graders; Info Tube; a coloring book program for pre-school
through 4th grade; public education tours, and car seat safety seat and
seat belt inspections. Contact Fire Chief Ralph Copley at 330-335-2849 for
additional information.
